1) Approval of Previous Minutes (April 6, 2010).
-Sara motions to approve, Sumanjit seconds.

2) Welcome and Introduction to BCLA/CLA.
- Amy chairs, provides an introduction and welcomes new and old members

3) CLA Report (Sumanjit)
-CLA events taking place in Vancouver in fall 2010. Possibility of BCLA/CLA student chapter involvement. Additional details pending.

4) Communications and Website Report (Sumanjit)
-Website is up to date.

5) BCLA Report (Amy)
-BCLA may be posting a professional experience project (website renovation).
-Interest from BCLA in formalizing mentorship program. Plans to collaborate with UBC and Langara student representatives in drafting a proposal along these lines. Projected implementation in 2011/2012 academic year. Possibility of a SLAIS student-to-student mentorship program if anyone is willing to organize this.
-BCLA conference: April 7-9, 2011, Victoria, BC.  Student volunteers accepted.

6) ALPS Report (Naomi)
-Nov. 2, 11.30 a.m.-1 p.m.: Speaker panel. Topic: ‘Getting Hired in Higher Education’. Dodson Room, IKBLC.
-Dec. 4: ALPS Annual Meeting. Speaker & lunch. Dodson and Lillooet Rooms, IKBLC.

7) YAACS Report (Sara and Ellen)
-Sept. 25, 8.30 a.m.-12.30 p.m.: BC ScienceFest at Beaty Biodiversity Museum.
-Sept. 26: ‘Word on the Street’ – a literary arts festival at Central Library, Vancouver.
-Sept. 28: First meeting of lunchtime book club.
-Oct. 16: Author/illustrator breakfast with Pierre Pratt.
-October/November: Authors David Wiesner and Suzanne Collins appearing at Kidsbooks, Vancouver.

8) Treasurer Report (Amy for Cynthia)
-$120 in account.

9) New Business
-Vacant position: Tour Co-ordinator. Interested parties should contact Leah Hopton.
-Events/speakers: Possibility of bringing in an information architect or someone from a government library. Call for additional ideas.
-Fundraising: SLAIS cookbook. Terra Marco to investigate production costs.

10) Date and time of next meeting
-Wedneseday, October 13, 2010, at 11:30 AM.
