CLA/BCLA Student Chapter Meeting

Meeting called to order: 7pm

CLA/BCLA Conference Presence Planning

1. ID name tags:

• will have “SLAIS”, “CLA/BCLA Student Chapter”, and name
• black with light blue blackground
• Paula will create a possible design
• will look for name tag holders, Camille possibly can get some

2. Half Sheet Handout:

• will create a handout to distribute at the conference
• will include:

i. chapter name and website

ii. one sentence about who we are

iii. how to get involved: mentoring and tours

iv. who we are (names and positions)

3. Change Website:

• need to at least change our names on the website, so that it will correspond with the handout
• Heather will email Susan Atkey to get in touch with Christine about accessing the website, possibly find out from Susy
• can it be changed before the conference?

4. Chance to Speak:

· Tara will email Mari Martin (the volunteer coordinator) if we can speak at any point, before or after a session – promote the chapter and how to get involved.

Post Conference Meeting

· Sometime during the summer, sooner rather than later?

· June 28^th – 30^th?

· Tara will email the list for confirmation

· need 3 to have a meeting

· need to consult with SLA

· brainstorm possible tour locations

o potential employers

o bizarre libraries (prison, wine)

o non-profit special libraries (Canadian Music library)
