About Us

Founded in June 2006, the CHLA/ABSC Student Interest Group at the UBC School of Library, Archival, and Information Studies (SLAIS) is a group of students interested in health sciences and medical librarianship. We are the first official Student Interest Group (SIG) of the Canadian Health Libraries Association/Association des bibliothèques de la santé du Canada (CHLA/ABSC).


Our Activities

The members of the Student Interest Group share a common interest, which is to share information and talk to peers about health librarianship, as well as to get involved in the local health sciences community and events. Accordingly, we hold monthly meetings and plan activities such as colloquia and tours.
