The Scenario

While conducting research for our term project and exploring the applications of faceted classification in an online environment, we discussed the possibilities of organizing and designing our Web site according to a faceted scheme. Due to technical and resource limitations we decided to choose one part of our document for the purpose of demonstrating the faceted classification. The consulted reference resources function as our sample data for studying and directly applying the general principles of faceted classification to a specific collection. This exercise illustrates how simply a faceted scheme may be introduced in a Web site for a particular collection, and shows the method of organization necessary for presenting the analyzed data or information.
