Abstract
The following website is meant as a preliminary introduction to the Dewey Decimal Classification System, as well as the Universal Decimal Classification System. Within it we give a brief introduction to the history of the two systems and their creators. We examine the merits and flaws of both systems, as they relate to libraries and modern day society. In addition, we provide an introduction to how the systems work, and what the possibilities are for them in the future. We also provide a comparison of these two systems, and conclude this website with an extensive bibliography of material for further review and research, as well as a list of websites containing useful material.
