The Anti-Doping Thesaurus
Background
The Anti-Doping Thesaurus is a tool designed to help athletes access the information produced by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
Doping in sport has become remarkably sophisticated, as have anti-doping rules and testing procedures. It is challenging to keep track of what drugs are banned, what practices are permitted, what testing procedures apply, what processes and penalties result from alleged doping violations. The Anti-Doping Thesaurus is aimed at helping athletes find the information they need on the website of the World Anti-Doping Agency and in other WADA other materials.
The Thesaurus helps athletes in answering such questions as:
- Is coffee intake before competing restricted in my sport?
- I'm changing my place of residence; what are the rules around reporting my whereabouts?
- I missed my doping test; what happens now?
Display Options
The Thesaurus has three display options:
- Alphabetical (click to view) - a list of all doping terminology in alphabetical order, including features to help identify preferred terms and lead you to associated terms.
- Hierarchical (click to view) - a list of all doping terminology in alphabetical order, with a full indication of all relationships for each term.
- Top Term (click to view) - an arrangement of all preferred terms into hierarchical categories.
User Guide
The User Guide provides help on using the Anti-Doping Thesaurus. It includes the following FAQ on using the Thesaurus, and a Quick Reference Window, which opens in a separate pane and may be viewed simultaneously with the Thesaurus.
