Welcome to our First Issue!
Take Off, Eh is designed
to meet the equipment information needs of the Canadian student who is
planning a first trip to Europe. You will find articles on what to pack,
what to leave behind, and how to make a single item serve multiple purposes.
You will find a packing list, a discussion board where you can post your
questions or your opinions, and a photo board where you can submit your
compressed images and accompanying information.
All of our articles can be
accessed using the subject hierarchy or by doing a keyword search. Because
of the variety of different terms meaning the same thing, and variations
in spelling, we suggest you use our handy thesaurus
to help you find the answers to your questions. A search under “debit cards”
for instance, will generate articles that use the terms “ATM card,” “bank
cards,” cash card” or “banking cards.”
Write for Us!
Consider yourself a Europe
aficionado? Was your first trip a great success? A disaster? We invite
all those who are interested in sharing their experiences to submit articles
to our editorial board. Be sure your article falls within the clearly stated
mission of Take Off, Eh! (see above). If you do choose to write
an article for us, we invite you to browse through our thesaurus
to learn the preferred terms. Correctly spelled variations from our preferred
terms are generally not changed, in order to provide site visitors with
a sense of the diversity and flavour that will embrace them in Europe.
However, we do use controlled vocabulary (from the thesaurus) to index
all the articles, thereby ensuring easy access to all articles by information
seekers who search our site using that controlled vocabulary. |
