ConclusionAlthough RFID has been implemented for the purposes of circulation services at many libraries, authors generally agree that is of yet no definite evidence of it benefits and the possible privacy problems may affect public acceptance of such systems. At this time it is only the vendors of RFID equipment that are certain. Although the example of goods and vehicle tracking in private industry is a compelling one, it remains to be seen if RFID as it is now applied is indeed the future for all libraries. ![]()
