LIBR 597: Research Collaboration (3) -- Course Description

PREREQUISITES :
MLIS and Dual MAS/MLIS: completion of MLIS core, LIBR 505;
MAS: completion of MAS core and ARST 591 and permission of the SLAIS Graduate Adviser

OBJECTIVES:

  • To give students an opportunity to engage in a collaborative research project with faculty
  • To give students an opportunity to apply advanced research skills
  • To enhance students’ skills in synthesizing information and preparing reports  

CONTENT: To be determined by each research faculty member in consultation with students  

METHOD: Working with the research faculty member the student may collaborate with their adviser (or another faculty member as appropriate) on a current research project, work with a university team in another department supervised by the supervisor (or another faculty member as appropriate) or work on a mutually agreed upon project that enhances the student’s skills and aptitude.
