LIBR 500: FOUNDATIONS OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (3) -- COurse Description
PRE or CO-REQUISITES: LIBR 501 a required co-requisiteGOALS: The goal of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the foundations of information technologies and their use in knowledge-based organizations.
Course Objectives: Upon completion of this course students will be able to:
- Understand and be able to discuss in depth the course topics listed below
- Use web-based learning software interface to access and use the course materials
- Use presentation software
- Create a substantial World Wide Web mounted presentation on a topic relevant to the course
- Create webpages and websites using a combination of CSS, hand coding, HTML editors and WYSIWYG software
- Understand the fundamentals of relational database design
- Understand the fundamental uses of and issues relating to Social Media in information organizations and related disciplines
