SLAIS: The iSchool at UBC Awards Criteria and Application Procedures: A Guide for Students

This is the list of awards to be offered this year. This is a partial list of all awards normally offered at SLAIS. In other years, all endowments have had sufficient funds from investments for all awards to be allocated. Unfortunately, in the current economic climate, we must put some awards on hold.

All Continuing and Graduating awards, other than the Ronald Jobe Children’s Literature Scholarship, will be awarded on Faculty nomination.

Student Awards for:

All SLAIS Students | Master of Archival Studies (MAS) | Master of Library & Information Studies (MLIS) |  Master of Arts in Children's Literature (MACL) | Doctorate in Library, Archival & Information Studies (PhD)

As per UBC regulations and policy awards are available to FULL-TIME students only, unless otherwise noted. Full-time students are defined as those who are on a Schedule A tuition payment plan. This list contains SLAIS awards only; students are encouraged to explore other award opportunities, for example those offered by UBC's Faculty of Graduate Studies.

Dual degree program (MAS/MLIS) students may apply for both MAS and MLIS awards, following all other eligibility requirements.

Many of our awards are based on endowments and funds invested by the University. Given the current financial climate neither UBC nor the School can guarantee the income that may be generated for these Scholarships and Awards.
